Transfer book notes to your Second Brain automatically
A spotlight on a tool I use daily to take book notes
If you are like me, you read tons of books and want to reference what you’ve read every so often.
But manually transferring your notes to your app of choice takes time. Time you could be using consuming or distilling more content. Or just chillin’, you know.
Enters Readwise, a service that will automatically upload your book notes to your note-taking app of choice!
Lots of supported apps and features
Not only do I read books, but I also subscribe to tons of newsletters and RSS feeds.
Readwise can sync your highlights from Instapaper, Pocket, or their native app called Reader, which is essentially a read-it-later app on steroids. Their app allows you to aggregate all the content you consume online, articles, emails, pdfs, in one very pleasing interface.
Using the Readwise services, I sync my Kindle, article and RSS feeds highlights to Notion and Evernote, even highlights from podcasts using the Snipd app. With no effort on my part!
The daily review
If you take copious amounts of notes, you’ll soon notice that you tend to forget what you saved pretty quickly.
Readwise will send you a daily roundup of your highlights in email form. It has become a tradition of mine to revisit my highlights every morning. All my favorite books are in there and it feels like digging for treasure every day!
Try Readwise for free
I want to mention that I am not an affiliate of Readwise. Just an avid user and overall a big fan of the service. You can try it for free if you’d like to see what the fuss is about!
