Marie Kondo your To-do List
Need a bit of decluttering in your life? Declutter your to-do list!
This edition of Things I’ve enjoyed This Week will be short and sweet.
I came across this quote that sums up my motivation to write this bi-weekly newsletter :
As William Butler Yeats wrote, "Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that, but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing."
Writing twice a week is a form of growth. I’ve kept at it for months here on Substack and I love the discipline I muster from the planning and executing.
Discipline = Growth!
Marie Kondo your to-do list
I came across this article from Todoist, a software I use to track my daily routine.
If you ever heard of Marie Kondo, either read her massive bestseller The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up, or watched her series on Netflix, you know that the KonMari method consists of looking at all your possessions one by one and asking yourself “Does this spark joy?”
What if you did that with your to-do list?
Productivity doesn’t have to be all grind and no fun! These tasks you dread, can they be donated, delegated, or simply eliminated? An enlightening read.
Nerding out on Zettelkasten and BASB, again!
After reading How to Take Smart Notes, I read about several people who use the Zettelkasten note-taking system, such as Ryan Holiday, Robert Greene, and my current favourite YouTuber, Greg Wheeler.
I randomly came across this article that goes into detail on the differences between Building a Second Brain and Zettelkasten. Warning: this one is very nerdy!
I tend to go on long tangents on certain topics and the article really scratched my itch!
That’s it for today folks, I hope you have a great Sunday and I’ll see you Wednesday for the next edition of the How to Beat Procrastination series!
